Since the implementation of the National Family Planning Program after the Population Policy declaration in 1970, Thailand has been successful in decreasing the population growth rate and total
fertility rate. As a result, the number and the percentage of the population aged 10-24 years are declining. By the end of 2004 this population group constituted 25.5 percent of the total population.
