Comparative Analysis of Serological and Molecular Techniques for Blood Group Typing in Thai Blood Donors and Thalassemic Patients
Repeated transfusions can complicate blood-group typing. Among 66 Thai patients with thalassemia, serology and genotyping disagreed in 24. Sequencing of selected samples uncovered variants affecting antigen prediction, offering a revealing look at how complementary laboratory methods can guide more precise blood matching.
Effect of Post-Washing Time Interval on Skin Hydration Following Moisturizer Application on the Ventral Forearm in Healthy Volunteers
How much does the post-wash moisturizing window matter? In 36 healthy adults, moisturizer applied within 2–15 minutes increased skin hydration and reduced water loss compared with untreated skin. Measurements over 90 minutes distinguish the hydration response from the subtler changes in water loss associated with application timing.
A Prospective Comparative Study of Surgical Outcomes between Femtosecond Laser-Assisted Cataract Surgery and Conventional Phacoemulsification in Dense Cataracts: A 12-Month Follow-Up
Very dense cataracts put surgical technology to a demanding test. Following 88 eyes for 12 months, this prospective comparison tracked ultrasound energy, corneal endothelial changes, and vision after laser-assisted or conventional surgery. Both groups reached a mean corrected visual acuity of 0.09 logMAR, bringing longer-term outcomes into focus.
Coiling Embolization of Small Ruptured Intracranial Aneurysms (SRA): Clinical Outcomes and Complications
Small ruptured brain aneurysms demand precise endovascular treatment. In this 50-patient series, 74% achieved favorable functional outcomes after coiling, with no rebleeding observed during follow-up. Detailed aneurysm measurements and procedural cases offer clinicians a close view of treatment in this technically challenging setting.
Development of an Integrated Model for Enhancing Surgical Capacity in Community Hospitals: A Case Study of Laplae Hospital
At Laplae Hospital, Thailand, a six-month program combined staff training, equipment upgrades, and coordinated surgical pathways. The hospital delivered 47 procedures for 45 patients as monthly volume rose from two to nine cases. Provincial mentorship and local teamwork emerge as practical foundations for expanding community surgical services.
