A Comparative Study of Manual Small Incision Cataract Surgery Versus Phacoemulsification in Glaucoma Patients with Hard Cataract: An 18-Month Follow-Up

Phacoemulsification (PE) resulted in a significantly greater increase in central corneal thickness (CCT) one day postoperatively compared to manual small-incision cataract surgery (MSICS). Long-term changes in corneal endothelial cell density (CECD) were not significantly different between groups. Both surgical methods resulted in significant intraocular pressure (IOP) reduction at 1 month postoperatively, with MSICS showed a greater reduction.

A Randomized Controlled Trial on Outcomes of Polymethylmethacrylate and Hydroxyapatite Implants in Evisceration: Introducing the Four-Petal Myoconjunctival Technique

At 8 weeks, both wrapped polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) and hydroxyapatite (HA) implants showed comparable outcomes in prosthesis wear and motility. The four-petal technique was effective with minimal complications, making PMMA a practical option in resource-limited settings.

Incidence and Risk Factors Associated with Venous Thromboembolism in Thai Trauma Patients

The incidence of venous thromboembolism (VTE) in Thai trauma patients was 1.6%. Risk factors for VTE included female sex, spinal cord injury, and prolonged hospitalization. Further studies are needed to identify a subgroup of patients who would benefit from chemoprophylaxis.
